My Soundtrack 2021, by artist Tara Johns

The 2021 Vales Shiraz from McLaren Vale is a delicate wine sourced from the Clarke vineyard in South Australia. The label features a beautiful textured abstract piece titled ‘My Soundtrack’ by talented artist and our dear friend Tara Johns.

This piece brings back fond memories of many summer holidays shared by our families and close friends. Tara’s unique artwork and style matches perfectly with the small barrel wine series. Both are exquisite to the eye and palate. I look forward to matching other unique varietals to Tara’s landscape series.

“My work is large and layered. Paint and texture build one on top of the other and move across multiple levels. Cycles and patterns intersect and overlap. The lines between what is man-made and natural are blurred in a parallel universe that no one else can see. Close up the layers and strokes in my work might appear chaotic, but from a distance they work together to reveal outlines of almost recognisable shapes and places. Shifting light, colours blending, distorted shape, at once recognisable yet veiled.”
